O&G/Subsea - ROV-mounted Torque Actuator

Scope

D3 were tasked by one of our valued local clients to provide a conceptual design for a suitable framework to interface with a subsea ROV to allow for rotation and actuation of an existing valve. A sketch was provided by our client showing the required location and basic design outline or requirements.

As with anything subsea and ROV related, key considerations such as operating environment, ease of use and design-efficiency were critical as part of the design.

Solution

D3 collaborated with our client across several meetings, discussing potential options and showcasing some initial concepts. Once we were happy with one, the design was refined and developed to allow for end-client buy-in before proceeding with the final detailed design and documentation.
